Write anything and everything on the blog, saw a movie, read a book, know an interesting site that you want to share, want to comment on anything, want to post something you created, a painting, a poem etc..? Sometimes you see something or experience something that you just want to share with everyone, positive or negative. Blog is the space to express yourself. Post the pictures from latest birthday party or the outing for all of us to see. Others can also comment on your post and can have a small discussion.

Create a microsite for yourself, with your introduction and maybe pictures and some details about you, you can have a microsite of 5-6 webpages, post anything that represents you on the site. Which we will link to from the mainpage, under the 'Members' section. If you already have a website, give your introduction and post a link to your website.

Get www.pachauri.info/yourname site for free. Please do not make pages which are very very graphic intensive as it will take up a lot of webspace, try to keep it under 6-7 MB maximum.

I have to charge for the latter microsite because the package that I have bought only allows 5 such microsites to be created. Again there will be no difference between the two, just that deepak dot pachauri dot info is easier to say than pachauri dot info forward slash deepak :).

You can either design your own website, or can just send me the content and I will post it in the format of this website.

A tip, if you intend to use a lot of pictures on your site like 50 or more, you can upload them on a free service like Flickr (you can also login with your Yahoo! ID there). Then use those pictures on your website.

Send me your photos, or your family photos, which I will upload on the family photos section. Or, if you are into photography or making paintings or into writing (anything) we can either post the pictures in the picture section, or you can post it on your microsite, or upload it on the blog, and later I will include the pictures in the photo section of the site.

This is what I like best. You can get a yourname@pachauri.info email address. Actually, the reason why I got this website was so that I could get this kind of email ID, :-). It definitely sounds more professional when your name is 'Vijay Pachauri' and you give your email address as vijay@pachauri.info instead of @rediffmail/hotmail/gmail.com or if God forbid .co.in!!. Shorter the email address, easier it is to remember.

This email will be powered by Gmail (by google). Now if you already use Gmail, then you know how good it is. You will get all the features of Gmail.

Those of you who do not know about Gmail, these are the main features:

# More than 2000 MB (2GB) of email space.
# You will be able to forward emails received to yourname@pachauri.info email address to your present email address. (also, if you are currently using gmail service, you will be able to forward emails from your current email addres to your @pachauri.info email address.

Okay, now the bad part is that this feature is not free, as I can only create a limited number of email addresses. So the email address would cost you Rs 100.00 or US$ 2.50 (by PayPal) for one year.

How much will it be next year, well, it should be less than this! ;-) as webspace is getting cheaper by the minute. The email address might also be free next year onwards, depending on the package that I buy.
Again, if you are paying by PayPal (credit card), just mention the email ID that you want, in the notes section while making the payment, or send me an email after making the payment.

I am charging for the email address as I only want those who intend to use it, to ask for it, and not just because it is free (as they are limited).

If you want a feature for which you have to pay, you can make the payment through online banking if you have bank accounts with either

You can also send the payment by PayPal, where you can make the payment through your credit card. You will first need to create a (free) PayPal account. You will have to pay the amount in US dollars if you are paying by PayPal.

However, if you are not a very heavy net user, I would suggest you participate by sending your photos etc.. and posting on the blog. Or may be sending me your suggestions!!.

Also, please do not expect me to update any pictures or this site as soon as you send any stuff, as I do not have net access at home, so it could be a fortnightly affair.
